Our Story
Meet Our Founder,
Nancy Waddell
I grew up on the edge of the prairie in a tidy little Minnesota town, full of historic homes and buildings with vintage design and decor. I studied every detail—from windows and trim to doors, hinges, and door knobs. When I was a teenager, someone bought the farmhouse down the street and transformed it into a Habersham Plantation showroom. From the back porch to the attic, it was filled with beautiful furniture, wallpaper, dishes, and accessories. I had never seen anything like it. It was gorgeous, and I was hooked. Design was a passion from then on.
Life eventually brought me south, where I’ve spent the last three decades working in various aspects of interior design. Some of my best training came from my years at Ethan Allen, where I worked as both a designer and manager. Those experiences taught me not just about design, but about understanding what makes a house feel like home.
Having learned to sew at home, I turned that skill into a successful drapery workroom, which led to what is now Chattanooga Window Treatments. This business allows me to use all the skills I’ve developed over my 28 years in design, focusing on what I love most: creating beautiful window treatments, accessorizing spaces, and helping clients transform their homes.
I stay connected with other professionals through several window coverings associations, where we share knowledge and solve challenging design situations together. It’s amazing what we can accomplish when we put our heads together—there’s hardly a window treatment challenge we can’t solve!
When I’m not working with clients, you might find me taking art classes at the Booth Art Academy in Cartersville or at Townsend Atelier in Chattanooga. My own home serves as my design laboratory where I experiment with new ideas before bringing them to clients.
Outside of design, I spend my time fostering stray cats, offering (sometimes unsolicited) advice to my three grown daughters, and shopping too much. But it’s all part of living a life surrounded by beauty and design—a passion that started with that first glimpse of a cleverly decorated farmhouse and continues to inspire me today.
At Chattanooga Window Treatments, we handle every project from start to finish—from the initial design concept through professional installation. We carefully select each element, from fabrics to hardware, ensuring everything meets our high standards for quality and sophistication. My goal is to help you create a space that you’ll love coming home to every day.

The MOMentum Network
Momentum: Empowering Single Mothers Through Education
Momentum is a local organization with a powerful vision: connected, empowered, and educated mothers transforming their families and communities.
Momentum builds a supportive “village” for single mothers pursuing higher education and their children, creating a two-generation approach to breaking statistical barriers. Through comprehensive support services, mentorship, and community engagement, Momentum helps mothers complete their education while being exceptional role models for their children.
Their faith-based approach recognizes that while institutions can provide resources, there’s no replacement for healthy family relationships. When mothers succeed academically, their children are more likely to pursue higher education themselves, creating lasting generational change.
Momentum believes that when families are supported, communities thrive. Their work creates stronger families and a more vibrant Chattanooga through the power of education, faith, and community support.
Love Without Reason
Love Without Reason is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing life-changing facial surgeries for children with craniofacial differences in countries with limited healthcare access. Founded in 2007 by Santhosh and Susan Mathews, the organization began its mission in India and expanded to Africa in 2017. As they deepened their work, they discovered the link between craniofacial conditions and human trafficking, leading them to launch Project Butterfly in 2015—a program supporting survivors of sex trafficking by offering safe housing, reintegration programs, and vocational training.
Beyond medical care, Love Without Reason has developed innovative solutions to address critical needs in vulnerable communities. They provide clean drinking water by digging wells in rural villages and support economic independence through Set Free Pads, a reusable sanitary pad initiative that empowers women with business skills and steady income. Additionally, the organization conducts global training seminars on human trafficking prevention and leadership, helping to create lasting change in the fight against exploitation.
